Casper G. Huizenga
Casper G. Huizenga is a licensed architect with over 29 years of experience designing projects of diverse scales and typologies. He has extensive experience in programming and site analysis researching and documenting various site limitations such as: topography, zoning, utilities, easements, contextual considerations, traffic patterns, sunlight variations, acoustics, etc.
He has schematic design experience preparing and assisting in the production of presentation drawings, material boards and models and participating in the analysis of spatial relationships and related design concepts that would best satisfy the client’s programmatic requirements.
Mr. Huizenga’s design development experience includes initiating the preparation of detailed development drawings from schematic design and engineering documents and calculating variables in accordance with building code requirements such as: numbers and sizes of exits, stair dimensions, fixtures, restrooms, and barrier free accessibility.
He also has vast experience preparing and coordinating detailed construction documents, consulting with project architects in the selection of various interior finish materials and collaborating on various projects with associated professionals such as: civil, electrical, mechanical, structural engineers and landscape architects. Moreover, he has experience participating in the contractor/architect punch list verification and substantial completion inspections and regularly contributing to the analysis and resolution of conflicts pertaining to the construction documents.
Mr. Huizenga attended Iowa State University where he earned both his Master of Architecture in 1993 and Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1987. He is a licensed architect in New Jersey and is a member of the Environmental Building News.
